Dawn Princess World Cruise 2010 - Thursday June 3, 2010

Day 14 Kuala Lumpur
After arriving in Port Kelang at 8.00 am this morning Bill and I boarded one of the buses going to Kuala Lumpur about 1.5 hours away from the port. We went to the Petronas Towers which were the highest buildings in the world in the 1990’s, but now only have the claim to fame of being the highest twin towers in the world. They re 442m high with a spanning bridge at 175m to link the two towers. We went up in the lifts to the spanning bridge and had a great view of the surroundings. 11,000  people work in these towers. There are also magnificent shops in the complex. The buildings, themselves, are very beautiful. We caught a hop on hop off us around K.L. The city has some magnificent buildings like the Petronus towers, some clinically modern buildings and some old buildings of Moorish architecture and mock tudor buildings like the Selangor Club with the cricket pitch across the road from it. There are quite a few green areas and the trees are many and lush. (Barbara) Had a fantastic dinner tonight in the Sterling Steakhouse – a little speciality restaurant on the ship. Superb steaks of your choice. Definitely worth it for a special occasion. The cruise director and three ship’s officers were also there. (Bill)
