Dawn Princess World Cruise 2010 - Monday July 19, 2010

Day 59 Travelling in the wake of the Titanic
We are now on approximately the same latitude as Paris, so the weather is warmer and not as rough as it has been for the last few days. When we went to dancing class at the back of the ship, yesterday, the sea was so rough that our instructor would not let us do the waltz for safety reasons. Instead we did the Meringué. By the time wehad finished with the ship going up and down like a yo-yo, for the first time in the cruise I felt sea-sick. It was wonderful to wake to calmer seas today. I took a book out on deck to have a read, but met up with Lynn who was doing a walk. She gave up her walk and I gave up my reading and we had a long chat, which ended in us seeing a pod of about 20 dolphins swimming and playing very close to the ship. We learnt the Rumba with some extra steps today, and tonight we enjoyed the Beatles yet again. They had a new concert for tonight. When I finish this we are going up to watch “Drama on the High Seas”. This is billed as a Musical Murder Mystery, an award winning performance of the Murder of the Master Mariner at Midnight on a Misty Monday in Mid Atlantic with a Mayan Machete. It is actually misty at the moment and we are in the mid Atlantic. We are following the exact course taken by the Titanic on its ill - fated voyage across the Atlantic. Evidently, at midnight tomorrow night we will be directly over the spot where it went down. We have just returned from the murder mystery. We met Lyn there, and am I jealous. She was having lunch by herself today when “Paul McCartney” asked if he could share her table. She got the whole low down on him and the four Beatle groups he manages. Evidently, he did 52 cruises last year. (Barbara)
