Day 73 Sailing towards the Panama Canal
Princess Cruises has made some arrangements for us with regard to voting in the election that has been called for Saturday, 21 August. We had to fill in a postal Vote Application form and have it witnessed and dated with the same date by both the witness and the applicant. These forms were to be couriered from CuraƧao to the Australian consulate in Los Angeles, where they will be processed and the ballot papers prepared. We should get the ballot papers when we are in Los Angeles. We received a letter today to say that our TV is going to be upgraded tomorrow. We will be getting a bigger TV with a flat screen. This is very nice indeed. Tonight we were invited for drinks before dinner to one of the mini suites. These are twice the size of our cabin and very nicely furnished. They have a large bathroom with a feature window, a full lounge suite and a double balcony. The ship has been traveling extremely fast today, maybe to prove that the electrical fault has been completely repaired. It would be a catastrophe if we lost power in the locks that we will travel through tomorrow, because they would not be able to manouvre the ship. (Barbara) The clocks go back another hour tonight which is good since we will be up at 5 am tomorrow to watch the entry into the Canal. Trivia question now: “In which direction does the Panama Canal run?” (Bill)
