Dawn Princess World Cruise 2010 - Monday August 9, 2010

Day 80 Full speed to Los Angeles
We had a leisurely day at sea today. I did some reading, washing, ironing, exercise and dancing. Tonight was a formal night with lobster and flaming bombe Alaska to farewell those 300 passengers who are leaving us in Los Angeles. There are another 300 passengers joining us for the homeward stretch from L.A. For entertainment tonight we had a radio play, “Drama On The High Seas” where the diamonds of the dowager duchess of Didsbury disappeared. After this, the Dawn Princess Singers and Dancer performed “Moments to Remember”. This included songs and dances from the 1920’s to 1950’s. Once again, really great dancing and costumes! We put our clocks back another hour last night so now we are 16 hours behind Melbourne. (Barbara) Days at sea are totally different from Port Days. There is a relaxed feeling to the day – an unhurried timeframe. You fill in the time according to your interests which, in my case, means some business, some choir and some dancing. We had our last choir rehearsal today and although we are no threat to the professionals on board, we think the audience will enjoy it. I am getting a lot out of it because the songs are those from my late mother’s era and ones that I remember her singing. (Bill)
