Dawn Princess World Cruise 2010 - Wednesday August 4, 2010

Day 75 Off the coast off Costa Rica
Today was another day at sea. We watched one of the staff carve a swan out of a block of ice, we watched the movies West Side Story and then Splash, with a very young Tom Hanks, we went to Dave’s talk on our next three ports of call to work out what trips we will do in Mexico and L.A. and did some reading. Quite a lazy day! Tonight was a formal night. We had lobster for dinner and then went to the show with the new group of singers and dancers who joined the Dawn Princess in New York. They are outstandingly good at both singing and dancing. Their costumes were superb. Some of the songs they sang and danced to were Save the Last Dance for Me, In the Mood, The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B, Pennsylvania 6 – 5000, Never tease a Viennese, Hot Stuff and Quando, Quando, Quando. (Barbara) All the movies used on the ship are selected by the company with the cruise in mind. They always highlight one of the ports of call or have a theme centred around a region of interest. Tonight is the most recent of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The night is still young. It is either that or a performance by Wayne Hoffman (no relation to Dustin) who describes himself as a Mentalist and Illusionist. Perhaps he is a magician. I will report tomorrow. (Bill)
