Dawn Princess World Cruise 2010 - Tuesday August 10, 2010

Day 81 Sailing along the Baja California Coast
Each night every passenger receives a copy of the Princess Patter. This gives details of all that one can do the following day. Some things on the list for today were Bridge lessons and games, the game of 500, Paddle Tennis, Ping pong competition, Californian racing Grand Prix, checkers, water volleyball, cricket, taboo, carpet bowls, golf, kite building challenge, a discussion of “Is Philip Noyce Australia’s Best Thriller Director?”, arts and crafts, discussion of the book “A Race to Remember by Damian Johnstone and Matt Norman. As well as this there were ballroom dancing classes, tap dance classes and line dancing classes. I attended the culinary demonstration where two passengers, with the help of the chef and the maitre d’, made garlic prawns. Of course, the big event of the day was the Dawn Princess Choir concert with star singer, Bill Healy. Always there is advice from the Lotus Spa about such things as Oxygen therapy lifting facials, which are guaranteed to remove wrinkles, pigmentation and ageing. How wonderful if it were true. At the Lotus Spa one can have detoxifying slimming treatment; quite a miracle with all the food we are given here! Rock massages, ugh!! etc.etc. Anyway, this part of the ship guarantees to make you beautiful. (Barbara) It was a full house at the choir’s one and only performance today. Some singers had followed instructions and had a glass of port half a hour earlier. This is considered ideal for the vocal chords and the confidence. The program was well received by the audience and a standing ovation forced a well rehearsed encore of “We’ll Meet Again”. Not a dry eye in the house! I have edited yesterday’s photos because I obtained scanned versions of these which were better than the photos of photos which I posted before. I am a dolphin fan these days. They are the puppy dogs of the sea. (Bill)
